gross,gross,gross

Last Sunday it was one of those rainy & cold days… perfect for going to the movies, Righhhhht. My boyfriend and I decided to go see “The Collector”. I personally didn’t know it was a scary movie, until I started watching, but I soon realized. I really enjoy scary movies but not this one. This movie was very disturbing and gross, period. Neither Mason or I liked it, it was just too continuous, and you could always call out what was going to happen. The movie in general I would rate a 4 out of 10. It was just way to over the top and creepy.
I love scary movies don’t get me wrong, but I don’t enjoy the whole blood and guts and this movies was full of it, even up to the part of hearing bones being crushed (not my favorite sound in the world… let me tell yah). The movie highly reminded me of the “Saw” movies, which also I don’t enjoy watching. They are in general disgusting and really creepy. But I mean at least saw had a purpose, I really have no idea what the purpose of this movie even was.
The background of the movie was about an area where all of these abductions were being done and the numbers of people were going up every day, and not one body was being found or coming about. & then a certain guy’s daughter goes missing and he does whatever he can to find her. Anyway the guy doing everything is keeping these people in little “boxes” in this motel that has been deserted for years in the middle of nowhere; the motel is full of traps and things that can only hurt the people. Overall it was just really weird movie. By the end of the movie there was still no reason or background for the guy doing it. I don’t even know it just kind of sucked in general.
Also it was pretty creepy because who in their right mind would think about a movie like this, that is the real question. It’s weird to think about the people that actually make these so called “scary” movies, and what gives them all their ideas, but that’s another day and another topic. P.S: I really don’t recommend viewing this movie in theaters. (389)

  2. This sounds disturbing. After watching a few really creepy movies, I read online about an interview with the writer and he said that he would talk to serial killers and people who were legally insane to get the idea, which after reading that made me more creeped out because like you said, who honestly thinks of things like that?
